The Abercrombie & Fitch brand is the iconic American brand for young millennials, who believe every day should feel as exceptional as the start of a long weekend. Their customer embodies excitement and optimism and inspires each other to find the confidence to push boundaries every day.


This collection surrounds the feeling of a summertime's end in New England. Working alongside full time graphic designers on the Abercrombie and Hollister teams to understand the brand, graphic style, and trend research necessary to generate an effective skew.

The collection mood.

A treasure trove of grained, broken-in 90s tees. Each item in Dad’s closet brings a memory from when he was wearing it. The boxy, heavyweight band tees, and collegiate plastisol ink crumbles, and leaves a trail of where he has been.

The passing down of these tees through generations and into thrift stores creates a story in every stitch.

Creating a roadmap.

To capture the worn out, ink-bled design aesthetic, designs will feature a painterly in transfer. Diagonal, and grain halftones will be utilized to maximize print detail, while resembling the diagonal loom of flannel.

The selected type represent the archetypes for all other chosen typography in the collection. I selected these fonts to reflect Abercrombie’s brand image, ideals, and the collection Mood Board.

The processing.

All designs are created in a non-destructive nature, with each individual color and element having its own unique processing to be changed using a levels map. This makes the editing process fast, clean, and efficient, while maintaining longevity.

Keeping manufacturing in mind.

To fully capture the screen print aesthetic in the design, each color was individually separated, halftoned, and touched up.

The colors were also slightly offset and blurred to give a more overblown, thresholded, and imperfect appearance.
